ATmega128 AVR DIP BoardProduct ID: EM-DIP-ATmega128
Atmega128 AVR board in DIP style for quick prototyping board equipped with minimum required components
User Manual - Quick View
ATmega128 AVR is 8 Bit microcontroller with 128KB Flash Program memory made by ATMEL. This is a DIP Board with ATmega128A mounted on the board with minimum required set of components. Use this as Push-in module or as Break-out module to interface it with other boards. All port pins are extended to the male headers on the edge of PCB. A 16MHz crystal is mounted on board. When you receive this product, the ATmega128 will be referring to internal 1MHZ clock source and NOT to the external 16MHz crystal. Do refer user manual for more details about Fuse Bits to be set for 16MHz Crystal usage. You will need ISP Programmer to program ATmega128. This programmer is not included. Important Technical Note: The ATmega128 on this board will have some test code loaded into it. We load this for testing purpose. Thus the Flash Memory will not be blank. The FUSE bits are not changed, they are at their default values. When ATMEL ships these ICs out to the distributors, the default FUSE values are as below: Extended Fuse : 0xFD If you look at the ATmega128 datasheet, you will observe that the default Extended Fuse value enables the "ATmega103 Compatibility Mode". In simple words, the ATmega128 placed on this board acts like ATmega103. To Enable this controller to work as FULL ATmega128, you will have to set Extended Fuse value to 0xFF. You can use ISP Programmer to change these Fuse Values. If you don't understand anything from above 2 paragraph then we request you to consult someone at your end who knows these technical details.
